THE DATING ELEVATOR PITCH

DATING CAN BE FAST-PACED, AND FIRST IMPRESSIONS MATTER. THAT'S WHERE YOUR 'DATING ELEVATOR PITCH' COMES IN HANDY. READ ON TO FIND OUT WHAT IT TAKES TO COME UP WITH A GOOD PITCH.

Think of the Dating Elevator Pitch as a concise and compelling introduction that tells someone who you are and what makes you unique. For example:

By day I’m an entrepreneur, but my real passion lies in environmental conservation. I’ve even done a TED talk on the topic, despite my fear of public speaking. I love languages and am fluent in 4 of them but ironically I’m much more of a reader than a talker. I’ve just moved back from New York where I’ve been living for the past 9 years but I’m keen to meet new people and eventually settle down.

Your Dating Elevator Pitch is like a teaser of your life. It helps you show what sets you apart and piques the interest of potential matches. Just like how a business pitch can get people excited about an idea, your dating pitch can make someone eager to learn more about you.

Whether you're chatting with someone face-to-face or swiping through profiles online, remember that first impressions count. Here are 10 tips to consider when creating your dating elevator pitch:

1. Be yourself and avoid trying to impress others. Part of my elevator pitch included “I’m an indoor cat who prefers meditating to drinking.” You’re trying to attract people who are in alignment with you so why would you pretend to be someone you’re not?

2. Highlight what sets you apart from others.

3. Keep your pitch clear and straightforward so that it's easily understood.

4. Maintain a positive and upbeat tone. Remember we are trying to attract people, not repel them.

5. Focus on sharing information that's relevant to dating and building connections.

6. Keep it brief and to the point; you don't need to reveal your entire life story.

7. Ask questions or include conversation starters to encourage a response.

8. Be truthful about your interests and intentions.

9. Ensure your pitch reflects your personality and the vibe you want to convey.

10. Leave room for curiosity.
